Our Story
In late January of 2022, Susan walked in to her first day of work at the Mazda dealership in Red Deer and met Dan at the next desk over for the first time. Dan's managers had told him not to date the new girl but that didn't stop him! He knew he would never forgive himself if he didn't try.
Our first time really spending time together outside of work was for wing Wednesday at the Canadian Brewhouse. Dan said a friend had bailed on him so he was hoping Susan would join him and she did! We spent a very long evening there full of laughs and conversation. On the drive home, Susan was amazed at how easy it had been to talk to this guy and tell him all about her life, and was a little nervous she may have scared him away, but Dan was driving home that same night amazed at this girl's story and by her in general!
We started going to the gym together and getting to know each other more and more, Susan even met Dan's family all while pretending we were just coworkers at work!
Our first big outing together was a surprise trip to the West Edmonton Mall planned by Dan! It was Susan's first time on rides and roller coasters and we had a blast, finishing the trip with a delicious dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory, which has since become one of our favorite outing destinations! When we got back that evening and Dan stopped to drop Susan off, we were just enjoying the golden hour sunlight taking silly pictures and that's when Dan said "Well, I've called you a lot of things, pretty, beautiful, gorgeous, and funny. But I've never called you my girl..." to which Susan replied something like "Well I guess we should change that!" and it was official!
After that day, though, someone ratted us out at work! There was a strict no dating policy at work, so Dan was given a choice of being able to continue his career at that location which would mean breaking up with Susan, or staying with Susan and that would mean having to leave. After that day, we just kept our heads down, showed we could still excel and keep it professional at work, and then a couple months later Susan got a promotion at another dealership so it all worked out!
From there on out, we were inseparable! We've had so many adventures, from road trips, camping trips, family get togethers and holiday celebrations, countless surprises for each other, cooking together, traveling to Cancun together, skydiving, and so much more!
And then in August 2023, we went on a couples weekend to Banff with Dan's brother and his now wife... little did Susan know what the weekend held!
We had a lovely breakfast in Banff and then started up Tunnel Mountain. The smoke was heavy from the fires and we were all pretty ready for a nap after the big breakfast, so we stopped at a nice viewpoint to "take some pictures." Dan wasn't looking at the camera and Susan was so confused! And then the realization as Dan started to say "I've called you a lot of things, but I've never called you my wife..." pure shock! He got down on one knee and asked the question, "Will you marry me?" She said "Yes!" You wouldn't imagine how much more energy Susan had on the hike down than on the hike up!
Since then it's been even more adventures planning the wedding, buying our first home together, and enjoying engaged life!
We cannot wait to say "I do" and become Mr. and Mrs. surrounded by all of you, our family and friends.

Questions & Answers
What's the dress code?
It's a wedding! Let's get dressed up! We request semi-formal/cocktail attire.
Most of your questions should be answered below. Please contact us right away if you have issues with the RSVP page or any concerns and questions not answered here. Our email is dansus2204@gmail.com
Can I bring my children?
We love your kids and the energy they bring! However, we are asking guests to refrain from bringing kids unless they are part of the wedding party or it is stated otherwise on your invitation. We want you to enjoy a fun date night or solo night off celebrating with us!
Can I bring a plus one?
We can generally only accommodate guests listed on the invitation you received, however, when you RSVP, if you would like a plus one not listed on the invitation there will be an option to request one additional guest. Once RSVPs close and we know our guest count, we will let you know for sure if they can be accommodated - we will do our best but the focus is on close family and friends!
What time should I arrive?
The ceremony starts at 3:00 pm and we would like guests to start arriving at 2:30 pm. Please arrive no later than 2:45 pm to ensure you have time to find your way around the venue and take your seat before we get things rolling.
What's the bar situation?
We will have a toonie bar set up for our guests with all your favourite drinks! There will also be non-alcoholic beverages available.
Where do I park and can I leave my car overnight?
There is a large parking area to your right when you enter the venue grounds and there will be signage to help you out. Yes, you can leave your car overnight if necessary but will have to wait until staff open the gates the next morning to retrieve it.
What if I don't RSVP by the deadline?
The deadline to RSVP is March 25, 2025, but the earlier the better! We will send out reminders to anyone who has not responded as we lead up to the deadline so there should be no issues at all! We will be giving our final guest count to our venue very shortly after the RSVP time frame closes so unfortunately we will not be able to add to the guest list after March 25.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors? Any stair climbing required?
The ceremony is scheduled to be outdoors in a grassy area (pick your shoes accordingly!), but if the weather is looking quite bad a couple of days before, we have a backup area indoors. The reception will be indoors on the second floor. There is a lift to the reception area so there shouldn't be any issues!
I have dietary restrictions. Can these be accommodated?
Absolutely! These do need to be clearly disclosed when you RSVP so we can ensure there will be a delicious option for you at the meal.
Can I take pictures on my phone?
During the ceremony, we would request that you keep your phones away and silenced to ensure our photographer is able to capture the special moments without phones in the frame. Afterwards, feel free to take as many pictures as you like of the reception and other activities! We will have a QR code to scan where you can take photos and share them with us!
